Blue Letter Bible

Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy
God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold
thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)

Ever will the Lord raise up His people from their troubles! Ever will
He seek to heal their hurts! Ever will He redeem His people from
wickedness! And ever will the Lord Almighty strengthen the resolve of
His children that they might proclaim His mercies forever! Praise His
name forever all you His people! Hallelujah!

Be Fruitful

"The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." -Galatians 5:22
This is an amazing list of qualities; the very character traits that we are to live out and display in our lives. The ultimate attitude-adjustment list. I remember as a child my mother was fond of saying, "Check your attitude," when I would get out of line, talk back, mope around, raise my voice in anger, or at times ignore family conversations in the car while I lived in my own little world. As a parent, I've repeated those words to my teenagers. I'm sure many of you can relate. You were once scolded, or have scolded others over attitude.

Yet, how do we check ourselves? In what way can we check our own attitudes, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day? How in our rough-and-tumble world can we possibly model such fruits of the Spirit? It's so easy to get frustrated with our fellow humans - in the office, at home, at play. The answer is actually quite simple, and easier than you think. Pay close attention to the first six words from Galatians 5:22: "The fruit of the spirit is..."

Displaying these incredible qualities is the wonderful outward display of the Holy Spirit of God living within you! When left on our own, we would stumble every time, but you don't have to. The great news for you, today, is that YOU CAN be an incredible display of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, and Self Control - all by letting Christ come alive in you today!

Prayer:
Almighty God, thank You for Your precious gift of the Holy Spirit to me! Use me today as a joyful display of the fruit of Your Spirit! Lord God, today I lift a prayer to You that Dr. Schuller has taught me. I ask You to "Make my life a window for Your light to shine through, and a window to reflect Your love to all I meet." In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
